The Overview

Your Table is Ready

Description

For the last 145 years, The Barilla Group has provided the highest quality Italian food products to countries around the world via a diverse and inclusive company culture. The brand wanted to create a diversity and inclusion brochure to distribute at supplier trade shows to convey the company’s forward-thinking, progressive approach to making sure everyone has a seat at the table.

Tonight’s Menu Includes…

Description

The goal of the brochure was to highlight Barilla’s history of inclusion with a special nod toward the steps the company has taken in the last decade to strengthen its reputation of diversity — for example, the company launched its Supplier Diversity and Inclusion Program in 2018 to enhance its diversity initiatives. As such, the brochure needed to seamlessly blend the old and new, traditional design elements with more daring design components to showcase the brand’s journey from a small, family-owned producer to a globally-minded supplier of premium Italian ingredients.

Description

Designers John Avila and Vicki Lasky of Avila Creative designed a full-color bi-fold brochure that combined some of the brand’s historic photographs with vibrant colors and design flourishes to create a dynamic, visually engaging piece. The brochure also incorporated visual depictions of data in the form of charts, graphs and icons to emphasize the quantifiable nature of Barilla’s approach to inclusion and diversity. In addition, the front and back cover of the brochure featured a collage of illustrated avatars with bold colors to demonstrate the wide range of cultures and ethnicities that make up The Barilla Group.
