The Overview
An Idea and an Exploration
Design+ Music started with a basic premise: designers and musicians have always had a special bond and an ability to shape culture. Growing organically out of the LA chapter of AIGA, the professional association for design, Design+ Music set out to explore this connection, and to show how AIGA designers create value for the evolving music industry.
The Details
Print Tells the Story
Part of the Design+ Music exploration is a luxe large-scale print zine featuring album cover art, show posters, interviews with musicians and playlists curated by designers. It asks questions about the future of the music industry and the future of design — and makes the case that these futures are more interconnected than one might think.
The Results
An Evolving Conversation
Today, what Design+ Music started lives on through AIGA’s website, where there is an ongoing and wide-ranging conversation about the intersection of these artistic disciplines.
